[ARCHIVED] Coffee With A Cop

Coffee With A Cop

On Thursday, February 2nd from 07:30 am - 09:30 am officers from the Roanoke County Police invite community members to come together at Mill Mountain Coffee and Tea, located at 4309 Starkey Road to discuss community issues, build relationships, and drink coffee. All community members are invited to attend.

Coffee with a Cop provides a unique opportunity for community members to ask questions and learn more about the department’s work in Roanoke County neighborhoods.

The majority of contacts law enforcement has with the public happen during emergencies, or emotional situations. Those situations are not always the most effective times for relationship building with the community, and some community members may feel that officers are unapproachable on the street. Coffee with a Cop breaks down barriers and allows for a relaxed, one-on-one interaction.

This program aligns with the departments mission to engage and unite with our community, allowing officers and community members to build relationships one cup of coffee at a time. We could not do this type of event without great community partners like Mill Mountain Coffee and Tea and we are very appreciative of their support.
