[ARCHIVED] Intro to Geocaching

Geocaching is a (mostly) outdoor hobby enjoyed by millions of people worldwide. Participants use portable GPS devices to locate physical “caches” hidden by others in just about every location and configuration imaginable, making geocaching essentially a high-tech “treasure hunt.”

This 60-minute seminar, led by a local couple with nearly 3000 caches found to date, will introduce you to the hobby of geocaching, its rules, equipment, how to search for a geocache and what to do once you’ve found it (or not). You will also learn how to hide a geocache yourself and will be introduced to some of the more common containers used, as well as some very special and tricky ones.

Thurs., Sept. 14 // 6:30-7:30pm at South County Library
