[ARCHIVED] Roanoke County Police Seek Assistance In Identifying Suspects Using A Scanning Device

On July 28, 2011, two white males were viewed on a bank surveillance camera tinkering with the bank's ATM. The men were seen placing a device known as a skimmer on the ATM. While the device is in place, it collects valuable account information from customers who insert their bank cards to make a transaction. Police are uncertain how much money, if any, the suspects were able to get as a result of this illegal activity. Police believe the two men have targeted other bank ATMs in the area over the past two months. If you know the identity of either man in the photos, please contact Detective C. Welch at 777-8626 or the Roanoke County Police Department at 562-3265.
