[ARCHIVED] Splash Valley Begins a New Season This Weekend

(Roanoke County, Virginia - May 21, 2018) – Roanoke County’s outdoor aquatics facility, Splash Valley Water Park returns for a new season on Memorial Day Weekend. The park will be open on Saturday, May 26 through Monday, May 28 as well as the following weekend. Hours these dates are 11:00 A.M. to 7:00 P.M., with early admission at 10:00 A.M. for Roanoke County Residents and season pass holders. Daily operation begins Thursday, June 7.

New this year, every Friday night from June 29 to July 27, Splash Valley will be open extended hours until 10:00 P.M. Each Hang 10 Friday will feature a different theme such as Superhero Night, and will feature concessions discounts including $10 full pizzas. This season the water park is also offering several weekly events, including:

•Making Memories Mondays – Ages 55 and older get in free with one paid youth admission.

•Family Tuesdays – Families of up to 6 individuals per household get in for a flat $27 admission.

•$7 Wednesdays – Individual admissions are only $7 all day long regardless of age or residency.

•Member Discount Thursdays – Green Ridge members get an extra $2 off gate admission.

Parks Recreation and Tourism director Doug Blount says he’s excited about the water park’s eighth season. “The opening of Splash Valley signals the beginning of summertime fun in Roanoke County. We’re proud of what’s been accomplished here in creating a destination aquatics facility, and we encourage our residents to come out and cool off in the pool with us!”

A limited number of 2018 Season Passes are still available, although half of this year’s allotment has already been purchased. The final day to purchase any remaining passes will be June 30. Reservations are also being taken for birthday parties, group visitation and after-hours facility rentals. Information about passes, group rates, fees and operating schedule can be found at www.SplashValleyWaterPark.com. Visitors can sign up to receive notifications by email or text regarding weather related closures at the park. Anyone wishing to opt into this service can sign up at www.SplashValleyWaterPark.com/alerts.

As for Memorial Day weekend, Blount says it’s a great time to visit the park. “For families staying in town for the holiday, we offer a fantastic recreation opportunity at a great value. We hope to see lots of folks out there to splash into the fun.”
