[ARCHIVED] Carvins Cove Road Fire UPDATE

(ROANOKE COUNTY, VA—June 5, 2018, 2:00 p.m. update)Fire investigators are not able to determine what caused the fire that destroyed a home in the 3200 block of Carvins Cove Road early this morning.  The house is a total loss and damage estimates are figured at $3,800 for the house.  No one was living in the home.

Roanoke County Fire and Rescue responded at about 6:40 a.m., on Tuesday, June 5, 2018 to the 3200 block of Carvins Cove Road in the Masons Cove area of Roanoke County for the report of a residential structure fire. First arriving crews did find flames showing from the front side of a single story house and soon advised the structure was fully involved in fire. The house has not been lived in for approximately 6-8 months. The house is considered a total loss. There were no injuries. Crews from Masons Cove, Fort Lewis and Hollins responded to the fire. The fire marshal’s office is on scene to investigate a cause.
