[ARCHIVED] Multiple Vehicle Crash

***Update***
(Roanoke County, VA—October 1, 2018) At approximately 2:30 p.m., a Sterling straight
truck was traveling east bound on Challenger Avenue. A Jeep Cherokee was turning left from Valley Gateway in the left turn lane. A Subaru Outback was in the right turn lane beside the Jeep Cherokee. The truck ran the red light and struck the Jeep Cherokee which pushed the Cherokee into the Subaru Outback. Three people were transported to a local hospital. Weather was not a factor in the crash.

The driver of the truck was identified as Brian Keith Moore, 57, of Roanoke City. Moore was charged with:

•Federal Code 393.3 - General maintenance of vehicle lights, brakes, exhaust, fire extinguisher
•Federal Code 383.23 (A)(2) - Operating commercial motor vehicle without a CDL
•Federal Code 391-41(A) - No medical card
•46.2-1094 - Fail to wear seatbelt
•46.2-852 - Reckless driving


(Roanoke County, VA—September 28, 2018) The Roanoke County Police Department
is currently investigating a three vehicle accident which occurred at approximately 2:30pm today at
Challenger Ave and Valley Gateway Blvd. Three people were transported to the hospital with
unknown injuries. All lanes of traffic are expected to be open within the next 15 minutes.
