[ARCHIVED] Roanoke County Releases 2018 Community Strategic Plan Update

2018 Community Strategic Plan Annual Report
(November 14, 2018) - Roanoke County has released its 2018 Community Strategic Plan Annual Report that details the progress made toward achieving goals set out in the 2016 Community Strategic Plan. The publication was released at the 2018 State of the County Address, held November 13 at the Holiday Inn-Tanglewood.

In 2016 Roanoke County residents were invited to participate in Roanoke County's first-ever community strategic planning process. The Community Strategic Plan engaged both community leaders and citizens to create a desired future for our community.

The plan consists of seven initiative areas to guide the County, including
  • Connect Roanoke County to the World
  • Position Roanoke County for Future Economic Growth
  • Promote Neighborhood Connections
  • Ensure Citizen Safety
  • Be A Caring and Inclusive Community
  • Promote Lifelong Learning
  • Keep Roanoke County Healthy, Clean and Beautiful
This is the second annual report that outlines the County's progress towards the goals outlined in the original public-focused plan. The 2016 Community Strategic Plan and the Annual Reports for 2017 and 2018 can all be found at
