A land use application has been filed with the Roanoke County Department of Community Development by the Roanoke Valley Resource Authority (RVRA). The request is a Special Use Permit (SUP) for a sanitary landfill on 8.05 acres of property acquired by the RVRA on February 13, 2019, located at 8484 Bradshaw Road, Salem VA 24153. Also, RVRA is requesting to amend its existing SUP by deleting the reference to the “amended landfill permit conditions and operating policies” document referenced in the 1991 SUP resolution. A community meeting regarding this request will be held as follows:
