[ARCHIVED] Roanoke County Police and Sheriff's Departments to Participate in Drug Take Back Program

Nearly every home contains unused or expired prescription medicines that are no longer needed. To help prevent the misuse of these prescriptions, the Roanoke County Police Department and the Roanoke County Sheriff's Department are partnering with other local law enforcement agencies and the DEA to collect and safely destroy these drugs.

The event is scheduled for Saturday, October 29, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. and will be held at several locations across the Roanoke Valley, including Kroger stores at Tanglewood Mall and Hardy Road in Vinton, along with Friendship Manor on Plantation Road.

No appointment is necessary to drop off your unused or expired prescription drugs. Local law enforcement officers and DEA officials at each site will collect and destroy medications they receive.
