Beginning on Tuesday, April 14, weekday and weekend lane closures will be in place for shoulder paving and barrier wall installation. Weather permitting, drivers can expect a daily left lane closure on northbound I-81 from 7 p.m. at night until 3 p.m. the following day from exit 140 to 143. These lane closures are part of a project to widen northbound and southbound lanes on Interstate 81 between exits 141 (Salem) and 143 (Roanoke) in Roanoke County.
VDOT has altered work hours to include daytime lane closures due to decreased traffic volumes on I-81.
