The Roanoke Valley Resource Authority (RVRA) has announced that the residents of Roanoke and Salem cities, Roanoke County, and the Town of Vinton can resume visits to the Tinker Creek Transfer Station and Salem Transfer Station beginning Friday, May 1, 2020.
Anyone exiting their vehicle must wear a face mask.
More details about other RVRA services:
- The Salem Transfer Station will be open Saturday, May 2, from 7:00 AM - 11:00 AM.
- The monthly Free Mulch Program to the citizens of Roanoke and Salem cities, Roanoke County, and the Town of Vinton will resume Monday, June 1, 2020.
- Household Hazardous Waste Events remain canceled until further notice.
The cities of Roanoke and Salem, along with Roanoke County and the Town of Vinton will continue to provide garbage collection, including bulk garbage and brush, at the curbside. Commercial haulers, local businesses, and contractors can still bring waste to the Transfer Station.
