[ARCHIVED] Virginia Enters Phase 3, New Guidelines Issued

On July 1, Virginia begins Phase 3 of its "Forward Virginia" Plan. The plan includes best practices for physical distancing, enhanced cleaning best practices for home and businesses, and guidelines for social gatherings.

Phase 3 also includes mandatory requirements for restaurants and beverage services, farmers markets, retail stores, fitness and exercise facilities, swimming pools, recreational sports, campgrounds and overnight camps, entertainment venues and theatres, religious services, and personal care/grooming services.

In a late announcement on June 30, Governor Northam announced that bar seating will remain prohibited in restaurants as the Commonwealth moves into Phase Three on July 1. For more information about restrictions on bars, please see the Governor’s June 30 news release about Congregating in Bars.
