[ARCHIVED] Absentee Ballot Applications Mailed to Registered Voters

The Roanoke County Registrar’s Office has learned that many registered Roanoke County voters recently received a mailer containing an absentee ballot application. The mailer did not originate from the Roanoke County Registrar’s Office. The mailer came from an organization called Center for Voter Information in Washington, D.C.  Citizens who wish to contact the Center for Voter Information with any concerns may call the organization at 866-377-7396.

If you have not already applied to vote using an absentee ballot in the November 3 General Election and wish to do so, you can complete the absentee ballot application form that was enclosed in the mailer.  However, the Roanoke County Registrar’s Office cautions that the mailing address on the return envelope you received may be incorrectly addressed to the City of Roanoke (317 Kimball Ave.).  If you choose to use the return envelope, completely mark out the mailing address and barcode on the envelope.

All applications for absentee ballots for Roanoke County registered voters should be mailed to the address below or delivered in person to the Roanoke County Registrar’s Office at 900 Chestnut Street, Vinton, VA 24179.

Applications may also be dropped off in person at the Roanoke County Registrar’s new office at 900 Chestnut Street Vinton, VA 24179, Monday through Friday from 8 AM - 4 PM. If you have questions, please call (540) 772-7500.

The Roanoke County Registrar also encourages voters to visit www.vote.elections.virginia.gov and select "Check My Registration Status" to confirm whether or not they already have an active absentee ballot request on file. If you have a request on file, you do not need to worry about completing another one.
