It took fire crews from the Hollins, Masons Cove and a Roanoke City station about 15 minutes to get the flames knocked down. The fire was contained to the basement area of the home, but the rest of the home has significant smoke damage.
No one was home at the time of the fire. The residents of the home will likely be displaced due to the smoke damage.
Investigators are on scene will begin trying to determine what sparked the flames.
