Roanoke County is currently accepting applications for the Board of Equalization. Applicants are submitted to the Circuit Court of Roanoke County for appointment and serve for a term of one year, with the term ending December 31st of each calendar year. Those candidates for considerations shall be residents, a majority of whom shall be freeholders in the county. Appointments to the board of equalization shall be broadly representative of the community. It is preferred members of the board be commercial or residential real estate appraisers, other real estate professionals, builders, developers, or legal or financial professionals. If thirty percent of the board meets the above requirements any citizen or freeholder may be selected to serve.
