On Sunday October 24, 2021, a Toyota Highlander SVU was traveling eastbound on McVitty Rd. in Roanoke County. The vehicle ran off the right side of the road and struck a tree. The driver was wearing a seat belt but was prounounced dead at the scene. Drugs and alcohol were not a factor in this crash. The investigation is ongoing, and no charges are pending.
