VDOT is planning to close a section of Penn Forest Boulevard (Route 687) on weekdays starting Monday, March 14, for approximately six weeks. Daily closures will occur Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. through 4:30 p.m.
Penn Forest Boulevard will be closed between Chaparral Drive (Route 800) and Bernard Drive (Route 795) under the railroad bridge. VDOT will be performing road work, removing trees and improving drainage. Drivers will need to use alternate routes such as Chaparral Drive or Starkey Road to navigate around the closure. Motorists can still access the businesses along Penn Forest Boulevard by entering from Chaparral Drive, Starkey Road and Bernard Drive. Message boards are currently in place to alert drivers to the upcoming closure.
