[ARCHIVED] July 10 and 13: Community Meetings for the West Roanoke River Greenway Feasibility Study

Community Meeting Photo

Roanoke County is holding a second round of meetings for a Feasibility Study for the Roanoke River Greenway between Green Hill Park and Montgomery County. In October 2022, Roanoke County held two community meetings in the Glenvar community. In July 2023, the second round of community meetings will be held:

Monday, July 10, 2023, from 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. at Spring Hollow Water Treatment Plant, 6200 West Main Street Salem, VA 24153

Thursday, July 13, 2023, from 4:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m. at the Fort Lewis Elementary School, 3115 West Main Street Salem, VA 24153.

At these community meetings, attendees will provide feedback on conceptual route alternatives. An informational video highlighting the work that has been done since the first round of community meetings will be shown twice at each community meeting. The meetings will be identical so you do not need to attend both.  The format will be open house-style so attendees can come and go as they please.

Paper surveys have been mailed to all residents and landowners in the study area, and will be available at the community meetings. Paper surveys will also be available at the Glenvar Library and can be returned to the drop box at the Glenvar Library through July 31st. An identical online version of the survey will be open through July 31st. Please complete only one survey per person.

To learn more about the community meetings, view the informational video and complete the online survey, please visit the Study Webpage.
