Update January 9, 2025:

Police identified the deceased male as Michael Henritze Jr, 35, of Roanoke County. Mr. Henritze’s family has been notified of his passing. Mr. Henritze’s death is being investigated as a homicide. No arrests have been made at this time. Anyone with information is asked to reach out to Roanoke County Detectives at 540-777-8641.

(January 7, 2025) Roanoke County police was notified of a shooting in the 4800 block of Sidetrack Road (Bonsack area) at 5:30 a.m. Officers found a male deceased with apparent gunshot wounds inside the home. There is no danger to the public. This is an active investigation.
