[ARCHIVED] Roanoke County Sponsors Open House for Vendors March 21

ROANOKE COUNTY, VA (March 13, 2012) — Roanoke County’s Purchasing Division is sponsoring an Open House for vendors on March 21, 2012 from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. at the Roanoke County Administration Center located at 5204 Bernard Dr., Roanoke. The event will be held on the third floor in Suite 300 F.

The open house is an informative way for local companies to learn how to do business with Roanoke County. The Purchasing Division oversees the centralized acquisition of goods, services, and construction for Roanoke County government and also serves as the purchasing agent for Roanoke County Public Schools for all items except construction.

During the open house, vendors and businesses will have an opportunity to ask questions and learn what is required to do business with Roanoke County. Purchasing staff will demonstrate how to navigate the County’s purchasing website to find listings of the goods and services requested, as well as where to find the County’s purchasing policies and procedures. Attendees will also learn how the County dispenses with surplus property.

Vendors and companies interested in attending are encouraged to bring their business cards for networking. For questions, please call the Roanoke County Purchasing Division at 540-772-2061.
