[ARCHIVED] Town of Vinton Issues BOIL WATER Notice

DATE: July 1, 2012

BOIL WATER ALERT FOR RESIDENTS OF WOLF CREEK, VICTORIA MEADOWS, CHESTNUT MOUNTAIN AND PORTIONS OF FALLING CREEK SUBDIVISION INCLUDING THE FOLLOWING STREETS: TODD’S BERRY DRIVE, FALLING CREEK DRIVE, LANDFILL DRIVE, TWIN MOUNTAIN DRIVE, TWIN MOUNTAIN CIRCLE, BURNT QUARTER DRIVE, DENBEIGH CIRCLE AND HORSE PEN DRIVE.

Due to the low water pressure or lack of water service related to the power outage at pump stations in the identified areas, as a precautionary measure, the Virginia Department of Health has advised that any water for drinking should be boiled, ice from the icemaker should be thrown away, and any water filters should be changed.

The Town is working with local agencies and Appalachian Power Company to restore power to the pump stations.

This BOIL WATER ALERT is in effect until further notice.

When water service is restored, please exercise conservation in your water usage.

NOTE--Any person needing potable water (furnish your own containers) or bottles of drinking water should come to the Vinton War Memorial between 10 am and 9 pm on Sunday, July 1st, and Monday, July 2nd.
