[ARCHIVED] Six County Fire Stations to Provide Drinking Water

ROANOKE COUNTY, VA (July 2, 2012) — Citizens in need of drinking water can fill their containers at six Roanoke County Fire and Rescue stations on Tuesday, July 3 from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. A limited number of cases of bottle water will also be given out on a first come, first served basis. Only one case of water will be provided to each family, while supplies last.

Citizens must bring their own containers to fill with water. The following is a list of the Fire and Rescue Stations where citizens can go for water: Hollins, Catawba, Clearbrook, Fort Lewis, Mason Cove, and Back Creek.

Roanoke County’s Fire and Rescue Chief says citizens may have to wait to fill their containers if station personnel are dispatched on an emergency call. Roanoke County will determine whether to continue the program throughout the week based on need.
