[ARCHIVED] Update on Brush Collection Efforts

Brush crews are currently working on Thursday A Week collection. It is anticipated that Thursday A Week will be finished by the end of the day today (8/7/12). Crews will then move to Monday B Week routes which include Hunting Hills, Franklin Rd, and Penn Forest areas of Roanoke County. The volume of brush is extremely heavy and crews are working as quickly as possible.

We ask that residents please be patient regarding their brush collection as the delays may be lengthy. Please do not place brush under power lines, trees, or park vehicles near the brush piles, or mix the brush with bulk items as these obstacles will further delay collection. Please remember that brush must be no longer than 6 feet in length and 12 inches in diameter.

The Solid Waste Division will advise our residents of our progress via newsflashes on this website as we continue to provide bulk/brush and regular trash collection service. Bulk collection and regular garbage service is being collected on schedule.
