Roanoke County Police are investigating a crash that occurred this morning involving a car and school bus. The incident occurred on Hunting Hills Drive just north of the Country Club.

We are still gathering information but this is what we can tell you at this time. There were no serious injuries involving the children or driver of the bus. The bus had five people on it. Three special education students, one aid, and the bus driver. The bus was headed to Cave Spring Middle school. NOBODY on the bus was transported to the hospital.

The female driver of the car that collided with the bus was pronounced dead at the scene. A male passenger in the car was taken to the hospital for what appeared to be serious injuries. Police at the scene say the car (a mid-size, four-door vehicle) struck the front of the school bus.
