(ROANOKE COUNTY, Virginia – December 22, 2026) Roanoke County’s Information Technology GIS staff has released a new platform for it’s GIS services, just in time for 2026.
The County’s popular GIS applications are available in a new Maps & Apps Gallery. This new web page features “address pass-technology” after entering an address at the top of the Maps & Apps Gallery, enabling users to switch between the ever-popular TaxView App, OneView App, PropertyView and other applications without having to reenter an address or tax map number.
The Maps & Apps Gallery also features the ability to sort the applications people most, add favorites, and customize their own user experience. Several GIS applications have been re-launched with the latest technology framework, enabling “Swipe” to compare current and historical map layers; enhanced search capabilities; and improved tools to draw, get directions, print, or get the coordinates of a selected parcel.
GIS staff also launched a new Property Value App, that enables users to look up the assessed market value of any property and see a clear breakdown of how that value was determined. This app helps homeowners verify that their property taxes are fair, accurate, and equitable. The Property Value App also features market value trends, sales information, and property value comparison tools.
