The Vinton Area Corridors Plan was adopted by the Roanoke County Board of Supervisors on February 23, 2010 to provide data and information for Roanoke County, the Town of Vinton and the Virginia Department of Transportation for use in land use and transportation planning.

Study Area
The Vinton Area Corridors Plan study area of the Plan is comprised of 7.5 miles of corridors that extend from the eastern limits of the City of Roanoke through the Town of Vinton and East Roanoke County. The six corridors included in the study area are Bypass Road, Hardy Road, South Pollard Street, Virginia Avenue, Walnut Avenue and Washington Avenue. Updates
Implementation

- The Town of Vinton was awarded $700,000 dollars in Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding for the Downtown Vinton Business District Revitalization Project;
- A Vinton Business Center sign was constructed at the entrance to the Business Center; and
- Roanoke County Economic Development enhanced the Business Center entrance with landscaping around the entrance sign, street trees along the main drive and new plantings for the median.
