The purpose of Neighborhood Watch is simply the relationship between you, the Roanoke County Police Department and the Roanoke County Sheriff's Office. During this program there will be crime statistics given and you will learn about problems that we see around Roanoke County. We will be asking residents about what they are seeing in their neighborhood and determine areas of concern.
Neighborhood Watch is a free program and you do not have to be a Roanoke County resident to attend. Roanoke County Neighborhood Watch groups hold meetings either once a month or quarterly, depending on the wants/needs of the neighborhood. The meetings are typically held in the evening hours and last approximately 1 hour.
These meetings give you the opportunity to meet your neighbors and get to know the different agencies within Roanoke County. There will be monthly programs that are intended to be educational in nature. We will have different aspects of the Roanoke County Government attend also so you can see how all the pieces fit together and work smoothly throughout the County.
