Alyssa Walker

Alyssa Walker was hired as a Permit Technician I and joined Community Development on November 7th. She replaces Teresa Williams.

I have lived in Roanoke County my entire life, and I graduated from Northside High School in 2012. I attended Radford University on a Track and Field scholarship, and graduated in May 2015 with a Bachelor of Science degree in English, concentrating in technical and business writing.

In August 2015, I started working as a Clerk in the Roanoke County Treasurer’s office. After over a year of working for the county, I am excited to learn even more about the people and processes that help Roanoke County grow every day.

In my free time, I am a part of a competition BBQ team with my father and uncle. We have won multiple awards for our pulled pork, ribs, brisket, and chicken. I will be getting married next September to my fiancé, Todd Dunbar. We met in high school, went to college together, and have a Chihuahua mix named Sandy who mostly enjoys naps. I also enjoy kayaking, bass and trout fishing, Virginia Tech football, and reading.
