Celebrate Americana with Star City Motor Madness and Star City Sock Hop!

The Williamson Road Area Business Association is hosting the Star City Sock Hop on Saturday night June 24, 2017, following Star City Motor Madness on Friday. The Sock Hop will be held at the Preston Park tennis courts (3100 block of Trinkle Avenue) from 6:30 - 9 p.m.

Star City Sock Hop celebrates Americana and Williamson Road sock hop history with featured DJ Jim Skinner, local brews, wine and food by Famous Anthony’s. Commemorative wine glasses will also be available for purchase. Dress in 50's wear for a chance to win prizes in the Costume and Dance Contest or come as you are to relive Roanoke City’s sock hops of the 1950s & 60s and take home great giveaways.

Tickets are $10 each and can be purchased at www.wraba.org or at the WRABA office located at 4804 Williamson Road (please call ahead). Tickets do not include beer, wine or food.  

Sock Hop rules:
  • No pets
  • No outside food or drink
  • No backpacks or coolers
  • Bring your own chairs/blankets
  • Must show valid ID for beer/wine purchase
  • Must show valid ID of ticket purchaser to pick tickets up at Will Call

Motor MadnessStar City Motor Madness Cruise night is Friday, June 23rd from 6 - 10 p.m. The annual event celebrates Americana through local automobile history and is free to the public. Parking fees apply at Berglund Credit Line and Breckenridge School.
