(ROANOKE COUNTY, VA – April 27, 2021) Roanoke County has created a new website dedicated to showcasing the progress being made to expand broadband access into under-served and unserved areas of the County.
The Rural Broadband Initiative website includes information about the 2019 Broadband Availability Study conducted by the County’s Communications and Information Technology Department, and an outline of project funding to date.
Tabbed sections on the page reveal details about Completed Projects, Current Projects, and Future Projects, along with links private Internet Providers who have partnered with Roanoke County on these projects.
Interactive mapping also charts the course of completed and current Roanoke County broadband projects, allowing page visitors to view project areas down to the street level.
Resident are also encouraged to use the link to the Broadband Comments online form located at the bottom of the page to share their broadband experiences with Roanoke County’s staff.
