Next Generation 911 looks to meet the challenges of our increasing global connectivity and communications mobility. NextGen911 or NG9-1-1 standards were reviewed in January 2014, after initially being released in September 2011. The NG9-1-1 standards and best practices help 911 centers seamlessly transition into the digital age. Currently, several 911 centers in the United States are conducting test trials with receiving text messages, video clips, photos, and voice information.
